Ride with the Champions: IVAN QUARANTA

Ivan Quaranta (Crema, 14 December 1974) was a road cycling professional from 1996 to 2008. His career is extraordinary. Among many achievements, he counts six stage victories in the Giro d'Italia. He became a professional in 1996 with the Polti Team. In 1998 at Krka-Telekom Slovenije he obtained his first victories, including the stages in the Tour de Normandie and Olympia's Tour. The first victory at Giro d'Italia was the Agrigento-Modica stage in 1999, with the Mobilvetta-Northwave jersey. In stage races he achieved 39 victories, including 6 in the Giro d'Italia, wearing the pink jersey for one day. But Ivan was also a great champion of track cycling. As a junior, in 1992, he won the track World Championship in Athens in the speed specialty. As a professional rider he has achieved several victories in the European Six Days and three Italian Champion Jersey. He participated in the Sydney Olympics and won two world cups. Today he is  coaching the national track cycling school at Montichiari velodrome and he is also manager of the UCI Continental Team Colpack-Ballan.
